DESCRIPTION:Introduction to Equine Assisted Psychotherapy\nBrandy and Rebecca created this workshop because equine therapy is a new and emerging field that is gaining traction quick! With few regulations being in place with this new field Brandy and Rebecca found it important to put together a comprehensive presentation to help other professionals begin to navigate what it looks like to step into the field of equine psychotherapy.\nWho is this workshop for?\nThis introductory workshop is for mental health professionals and counseling students curious about equine-assisted services. Who are….\n\nInterested in entering into the equine-assisted therapy field.\nTrying to figure out next steps and the options out there for getting into equine assisted psychotherapy.\nCurious how equine assisted psychotherapy works.\nInterested in learning the different styles, orientations, and variation of services in equine field.\nWanting to figure out which service they can specialize in or how to refer clients to equine assisted services.\n\nWhat will the objectives be for this program?\n\nDifferentiate among various types of equine-assisted services (e.g., equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP), equine-assisted/facilitated learning (EAL/EFL), hippotherapy), and identify appropriate client populations for each modality.  In addition, apply criteria for evaluating the quality and appropriateness of equine-assisted psychotherapy services when making referrals or seeking professional training\nDescribe the core components and requirements of established training programs for professionals pursuing equine-assisted psychotherapy\nDescribe the core components and requirements of established training programs for professionals pursuing equine-assisted psychotherapy\nDemonstrate an introductory understanding of equine-assisted interventions through observation and participation in structured, experiential activities\n\nDetails\n3 hour workshop: workshop will be broken up with a classroom learning portion as well as a hands on demonstration learning portion\nCost: $150 for Professionals and $100 for Graduate Students\nLocation: Renewing Hope Ranch in Morrison, CO\nPresenters: Brandy Burch PsyD, PMH-C and Rebecca Winn MA, LPC, NCC, GEP\n
