Ruah

Ruah came to us in 2025 from a couple who got her and then decided she would be happier somewhere else. She originally came from the Western Slope and was a packing and trail horse there. She arrived with a lot of fear and worry — truly afraid of everything: kids, dogs, hands moving, ground poles, wind, you name it. It took about two weeks before she would let me come up to her without running away. After lots of work and time spent, Ruah is only afraid of most things, not all things.
She stepped into her role as a therapy horse very quickly after a couple of months to just be a horse. Ruah holds such a strong curiosity for the world around her and wants so badly to try new things and explore. People connect with her because many of them can relate to the struggle with worry, and the desire to still be out there.
Age
Ruah came with papers. We celebrate her birthday on April 21, 2013.
Care
Ruah needs magnesium every day to help with the heightened state she lives in.
