Renewing Hope Ranch (“we”, “us”) is a 501(c)(3) Christian nonprofit in Morrison, Colorado, EIN 82-3407636. This policy explains what information we collect through renewinghoperanch.org, how we use it, and the choices you have. We do not sell or rent your personal information.
Information we collect
When you donate
- Your name, email address and donation amount, whether the gift is one-time or monthly, and any note you add.
- If you sponsor a horse, which horse you chose.
- Card details are entered into a secure form provided by Stripe and go straight to Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
When you contact us
- The name, email address, phone number and message you send through our contact form, and what you are seeking help with.
When you sign up for a program or workshop
- Details you give us to register, such as your name, contact information, profession or licence details needed for continuing education certificates, and payment details handled by our payment providers.
When you visit the site
- Standard technical information our host records for security and performance, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request.
- A small number of cookies, described below.
How we use your information
- To process donations, send receipts and year-end giving records, and manage monthly gifts.
- To reply to messages and schedule ranch days, programs and workshops.
- To issue continuing education certificates and keep the records our accrediting bodies require.
- To thank donors, share updates about the ranch and the horses, and let you know about programs. You can ask us to stop at any time.
- To keep the site secure, working and fast.
Services that handle your information
We use trusted providers to run the site and process gifts. Each handles only what it needs.
- Stripe processes card payments and recurring donations.
- Charitable, our donation software, stores donation records on our website.
- Brevo delivers email sent from the site, such as receipts and contact form messages.
- Kinsta hosts the website and uses a content delivery network to serve it quickly.
- IvyPay and Venmo may process workshop payments, and Eventbrite sells tickets for some events. Their own privacy policies apply when you use them.
- Embedded YouTube videos load from Google when you play them.
We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our participants, volunteers, staff and horses.
Cookies
We use a few cookies that the site needs to work, such as keeping your donation details between steps and remembering that you are logged in. Stripe sets cookies on the donation form to help prevent fraud. YouTube may set cookies when you play an embedded video. We do not use advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though the donation form may not work without them.
How long we keep information
We keep donation records for as long as needed for tax and accounting purposes, generally at least seven years. Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to respond and follow up. Program and continuing education records are kept for the period our accrediting bodies require.
Your choices
- Ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to records we must keep by law.
- Stop a monthly gift at any time by contacting us.
- Opt out of updates by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us.
Children
Our website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), card data is handled by Stripe, and access to our records is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so please contact us if you have concerns.
Links to other sites
Our site links to other websites, such as Facebook, Instagram and Eventbrite. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
